With the Eijkelkamp-Fraste CRS XL Dual Rotary-Sonic drilling rig, MacGeo now offer an ‘all-in solution’ for the retrieval of high quality samples at a much faster rate, when compared to conventional drilling techniques. A continuous sampling and testing profile can be achieved in the most challenging of ground conditions, both superficial and bedrock materials, through the utilisation of dual rotary and sonic head options, coupled with comprehensive tooling and equipment, including: Aqua-lock, Single-wall, Dual-wall and Geobor-S.

Our Lead Drillers are NVQ Level 2 qualified with CSCS, Cat & Genny, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling and full 3 day first aid as a minimum, supported by our Assistant Drillers, trained to the same level, with the exception that at times they may be working towards the NVQ Level 2 qualification rather than possessing it. It should be noted that all drillers are BDA audited.

All operatives carry the minimum PPE of fire retardant overalls, hard hat, eye protection, task specific gloves and electrical resistant safety boots. We can provide a range of specialist installation equipment and consumables, with all of our operatives trained to install a variety of gas and groundwater monitoring equipment. All of our drillers logs and daily records are quality checked by our in-house Geotechnical Engineering team. In addition, we have our own permit to dig system in line with MacGeo’s internal HSEQ procedures and have both generic and site specific RAMS developed for each project.
